Miles recently figured out that his thumb will do the trick when Mom and Dad won't give him a pacifier. After he was done sleeping he was ready to do some "hanging out."

The shield got its first use today and partially worked. Unfortunately (for Grandma Kathy), I think I need to make some design modifications to add side barriers. Here is a pic of the shield post-pooplosion and after Grandma did some cleaning of the shield, wall and herself.

Grandma Kathy Feeding Miles a Bottle

Grandma Kathy came and visited Miles for 10 days and helped out tremendously while Jim was travelling for work. Thanks Grandma! Can't wait to see you again.

In other news, Miles had his 1-month checkup on Thursday and all is well. He is "long & lean" (75% in length & 25% in weight). He also has a very average melon with his head circumference in the 50%. Really though, the percentiles are meaningless at this point. What's really important is that he is growing fast. He measured 22 inches (up 4 inches from birth) and 8lbs 13oz (up 1 lb 10 oz from birth). He also has a strong neck and likes to practice holding his head up like a big boy. Here is a picture of him laying on daddy's chest and exercising those neck muscles.
