Miles' New Digs...in progress

Miles is getting a new room (the former guest room) in preparation for the arrival of his sister, who will inevitably take over countless number of his things throughout his life. His room being the first, we are preparing it -- and positioning it -- as a big-boy room. Although there will still be a crib, he's getting a new-to-him toddler table and matching chairs, new rug and a new battleship gray paint job. Here's some pics of Jim in his room-painting debut...

Xmas Morning Pandemonium

Miles began ripping open gifts minutes after being plucked from his crib. Here are a few of him opening his new items.... Jim's reaction is captured here as well -- as he opened his new ice cream maker. Num, num!

The Dreaded Haircut

After months of pleading from Jim and close friends, I finally acquiesced and allowed Miles' first haircut a few days before Xmas. Here's several photos of me and Miles NOT enjoying ourselves, including one of me side-eyeing her comb as she prepared her tools.

Decorating the Tree

Miles helped decorate the tree before Xmas. In the days after, he particularly enjoyed un-decorating it as well. All breakable or important ornaments were strategically placed out of reach.

Nash Visits

Nash came to town recently with Kaisha for an evening/day of running around and getting messy. Here the boyz are getting cleaned up, just in time for bedtime. The next AM, they ran around and took a book break.

Miles' Classic Red Jumpsuit

Here's Miles wearing a jumpsuit, previously worn by both Uncle John and me. He wore it for about 10 minutes before the zipper started to itch. Too cute!

ROTFLMAO

Oh the simple things in life! Miles apparently gets a real kick out of coughing and sneezes. This first one was so funny that he couldn't keep his balance.

More from the Pool

Fun in the Sun

Miles got a new pool over Memorial Day weekend, and he enjoyed his first-ever "swim". :)

Excuse Me, Russ

Rather than going around Russ, Miles opted to crawl OVER him. Russ didn't seem to notice.

Miles' Afternoon with Ben & Sam Bleything

Ben & Sam, 5 mos., (and their parents, Matt & Jill) spent Sunday afternoon with us. The Bleything Boyz enjoyed playing with Miles "stuff," while Miles supervised. Russ too was keeping an eye on things. Miles is free-standing (not hanging onto something/someone) more and more -- walking is right around the corner.

New Art

We spent much of our weekend enjoying the Brookside Art Fair, which was happening just a few blocks from the house. In total, i think we made 5 visits down to the fair, enjoying the artwork, people watching and good food. Here's what we procured...

That's What Those Things are For!

Miles' seems to have figured out that his legs have a purpose other than sticking his feet in his mouth. In the last couple weeks he has learned how to make his Jeep "go" and has been zooming around the house ever since. Next stop...walking!

A Day at the Phoenix Zoo

Miles went to the zoo for the first time during our visit to Phoenix. He enjoyed looking at all the animals. Of all the "ferocious" animals at the zoo, it was a loud parrot that made Miles cry. Mommy seemed a bit concerned about the creatures running free in the monkey village.

Russ is Funny!

Miles' loves his jumper seat and thinks Russ is hilarious when playing "tug" with his toy.

It seems we have a stowaway.

Hangin' With Nash

Miles' had a friend sleep over a few nights ago. Here is some videos of Miles and Nash playing in the kitchen the next morning.

Nash was very interested in the camera...and then lost his balance.

Miles Loves Water - Dog Water that Is

We tend to try and keep Miles out of Russ' water bowl. Mommy was being lenient on this particular morning though.

A couple more Miles Elliott Faces

Here is the elusive fish face (very difficult to capture on film).

And some video of Miles' "trick" which we can't really describe.

Miles & Nash

Nash (13 mos) & Kaisha spent the night on Friday night, and here are the boyz at about 6:30 the next morning eating Puffs off the kitchen floor, and playing with various kitchen utensils and plastic cups. :)

Monkeying Around

Mebbers received some fantastic new Monkey Pajamas from Gma/Gpa Seltzer. Too cute!

Baking with April

April baked some V-day cupcakes last week and Miles was on hand to manage the frosting and sprinkles.

Miles New Hat

Miles got a new hat and styles it here quite well. (Pay no attention to the carrots in his nose.)

Happy Birthday Great-Granddad!

Here is Miles wishing his great-granddad, Vince, a very happy birthday!

Miles' New Tricks!

January was a busy month of learning for Miles. He mastered rolling over, learned to sit up, crawl and stand up (with the assitance of a table). Here you can see many of his new skills as well as a glimpse of his infatuation with Russ.

Miles Dancing

This was the first time we've ever seen Miles move to the music.

Miles Reading

Of all the books in our basement, Miles continues to gravitate to two. Here you can see one of his favorites - Principles of Economics. He is also quite fond of the Milton Friedman classic - Capitalism and Freedom.

Cute Miles

A couple of videos of Miles doing what he does best - just being cute!

Miles Waving

Funny Mommy!

Miles continues to be a happy baby boy with plenty of smiling and laughing. Especially when Mommy performs her comedy routine.

Jumpin Baby

Miles is getting the hang of his jumper and having a great time working out his legs!

Will Stand for Skittles

Don't worry, Gma Kathy, we are not feeding Miles Skittles. :)

Russ Gets Some Blog Love

Miles 'n' Mommy

New Toy

Procured Miles' new Lion at Target today, which converts into a pushable toy to help him start walking. Look out Russ! (who looks less than thrilled).

Baby Blues!

Although we look a little off in this pic, had to share these baby blues!

Looking Cute

Miles' New Trick: Standing Up!

January has been full of "Miles"tones, including sitting, waving, crawling and now, standing up.

Messy Miles

Miles enjoys mealtimes, although he often ends up covered in the offerings.
